Operational Oceanography

The numerical hydrodynamics models (see Atlantic Shelf Circulation Modelling ) are being used to provide advice and predictions of ocean currents, drift and sea level variations for a number of operational problems.

For an example of predicted currents and drift during the SwissAir recovery operation, see SwissAir Currents and SwissAir Drift.

For access to an interactive tide and current model for North West Atlantic Shelf (Cape Cod to Davis Strait) , see WebTide Tidal Model (requires Java 1.4 or greater).

For access to an interactive drift trajectory model for surface drift on the Scotian or Newfoundland Shelves at user-specified locations, see WebDrogue Drift Trajectory Model (requires Java 1.4 or greater).
